Woman allegedly tries to steal purse from El Paso woman, ends up pepper spraying herself and injuring a child

A 23-year-old California woman was arrested by El Paso Police Friday after llegedly attacking and injuring a woman and her 4-year-old child – all for a purse.

The incident occurred in the Marshall’s parking lot near Bassett Place.

Several witnesses told Reonna Hallion to stop but Hallion did not, claiming she was the one getting robbed.

When an older man finally stepped in to help, Hallion allegedly attempted to pepper spray him – but ended up pepper spraying herself in the process.

Hallion then fled the scene.

An off-duty officer followed her to a hotel where she was later arrested.

Hallion has been charged with robbery and injury to a child, with her bonds totaling $70,000.

The woman and her 4-year-old child were treated for minor injuries.
