Canutillo man arrested for allegedly trespassing at Canutillo school

Anthony, Texas Police Department (APD) officers arrested 29-year-old Canutillo resident Andrew Santillano on Thursday, Nov. 19 for criminal trespass at Bill Childress Elementary School.

Santillano was the subject of an investigation that started in September 2015 at one of the Canutillo ISD middle schools.

APD School Resource Officers were called to the middle school in September because of an alleged suspicious man, later identified as Santillano, on the school grounds.

The officers found and questioned Santillano about why he was at the middle school and police say his answers were inconsistent with events occurring in the school.

Santillano was taken into custody for outstanding El Paso Municipal warrants and a criminal trespass order was issued for all Canutillo ISD campuses.

While conducting a pat down on Santillano, officers found about 25 printed pictures of young, high school age females on Santillano.

Santillano told police the pictures belonged to him and he got them by downloading and printing them from his Facebook friend list, according to police.

On Nov. 19, Santillano was seen on the premises of Bill Childress Elementary by the on-duty SRO.

The officer took Santillano into custody for violating the trespass order from September.

During the routine pat down, the officer recovered from the subject’s front pocket

More than 3o printed pictures of high school age girls.

APD officers are continuing to investigate the case and have enlisted the assistance of the FBI for possible further charges.
