79th annual Sun Bowl Parade crowds streets

From Horizon to Las Cruces, thousands from all over the borderland went to the Sun Bowl Parade this Thanksgiving Day. Friends and family said they enjoyed the morning as floats and bands marched along Montana.

“We’ve been coming out easily 15+ years, again it’s a family tradition,” said Noreen Borunda, one of the parade goers.

Tradition and memories so strong not even the rain could keep these families out. “Whooooo”

“The weather’s never stopped us. We come out here rain or shine, nothing stops us,” said Skylar Borunda, who has gone to the parade her whole life.

Even Santa Claus took time to visit the parade. Alongside the classic floats were some showcasing extraordinary inventions, like the evolution of flight. The sidewalks were full all morning as crowds watched the parade.

“It’s a family tradition to come out here, even if it’s just my brothers whoever it is, just family we always come out here,” said Victor Macias who was there with his brothers.

The parade wrapped up around noon, just in time for families to go home and prepare their Thanksgiving meals.
