‘El Brujo Mayor’: Mexico’s self-proclaimed grand warlock predicts capture of ‘El Chapo’

Mexico’s self-proclaimed grand warlock, “Brujo Mayor” predicted on Tuesday that US presidential hopeful Donald Trump will not win the Republican nomination in 2016.

Speaking at his yearly news conference in Mexico City, Antonio Vazquez said that Trump will launch an independent bid for the White House.

Among his other predictions, Vazquez said Cuban President Raul Castro’s health is in a more fragile condition than that of his brother, former Cuban President Fidel Castro, adding that Raul “could give us a scare” this year.

The Grand Warlock also predicted that notorious drug kingpin Joaquin “El Chapo” (Shorty) Guzman will be caught by Mexican authorities.

Guzman escaped from jail for a second time in July 2015. Vazquez said Guzman will not be arrested, but that he will be killed by authorities.

For more than three decades, Vazquez has performed tarot card and horoscope readings to reveal what is in store for the coming year, often missing spectacularly.

In previous years he erroneously predicted that Fidel Castro would die in 2008, that Germany would win the 2006 World Cup, and that Barack Obama would lose to Mitt Romney.

Regardless of his shortcomings, Vazquez’s readings get wide coverage in the local media.
