Neighbors help family escape from burning home

Quick thinking neighbors helped an Anthony Texas family escape a burning home this morning.

The fire happened around 1 A.M at a home on the intersection of Poplar and Luisa in Anthony, Texas.

Our ’round the clock news crews were there as firefighters battled the blaze. The home’s roof was partially collapsed.

Neighbors tell Abc-7 they helped family members escape, including a young girl who was taken to the hospital after suffering from smoke inhalation.

“My son seen some type of fire smoke and we ran back down there and jumped up on the roof and tried to turn it off but it caught more flames!” One neighbor Charlie said.

Crews with El Paso County, Santa Teresa, West Valley and the Anthony fire department teamed up to fight the fire.

No word yet on how much damage was caused.
