Police looking for driver in deadly hit-and-run
Friends and family of an Anthony man killed in a hit and run last week are asking the public for help.
Ruben Valenzuela’s family is offering $1,000 for information leading to an arrest.
On Wednesday, the 22-year-old was laid to rest. His family tells ABC-7 knowing who is responsible, would bring them closure.
Valenzuela was walking along New Mexico 478 south of O’hara when he was hit by an unknown vehicle.
Investigators with the New Mexico State Police Crash Reconstruction Unit believe a Dodge Ram pickup, possibly black or a dark paint color, was involved. They said truck’s right side headlight and grill might be damaged, and the right side mirror could be missing. The pickup also might have a camper shell on it.
Valenzuela’s cousin tells ABC-7 he left behind two children. She says he was planning to get married this year and was buried in his tuxedo in honor of the wedding.
Anyone with information is asked to call the New Mexico State Police Las Cruces office at (575) 382-2500.
