Correction: One Fort Bliss soldier killed in Friday crash in Albuquerque

One Fort Bliss soldier is reported dead after a triple-fatal crash Friday Morning in Albuquerque.

Five people were involved in the triple-fatal crash Friday morning.

David Bowie, 27, Sondra Evans, 28, and Teashieva Slowman, 36, all died early Friday morning after a Dodge Challenger crashed near Osuna Road and Pennsylvania Street. Ivey Sanderson, 27, is currently in critical condition, And David Griffin, 35, has minor injuries.

Police said Bowie was driving the Challenger and Griffin was the passenger. Both men are in the Army and drove to Albuquerque from El Paso. Police said the two went to a bar near Montgomery and Eubank Thursday night. That’s where they met Slowman, Evans and Sanderson. Police said all three women got into Bowie’s car.

Bowie was reportedly driving over 100 mph on Pennsylvania Street around 2 a.m. Friday when he ran a stop sign and hit a curb. The car flew over 300 feet before it landed.

Police said Evans, Slowman and Sanderson were ejected from the car, and two empty alcohol containers were found on the scene.

APD said speed and alcohol were factors in the crash.
