the corner of granillo street and socorro road. good morning el paso’s denise olivas joins us live with the very latest details ….denise? / the el paso fire department spokesman comfirms no injuries were reported. carlos briano says 3 men were inside when the fire started but got out in time. take a look at this video captured by tex-dot traffic cameras. you can see flames shooting out of the home. we’re told the ysleta del sur pueblo police on patrol saw the flames and alerted the residents to get out. the officer called 911. when the el paso fire department arrived, flames were shooting out from the back of the house. firefighters searched for any other residents while trying to put the fire out. the fire was put out just before 4:15 this morning. “”we haven’t had man incidents… important that they check them first” about 25 percent of the home was damaged. fire investigators are here now working to find out how the fire started. the fire department spokesman says this is the first house fire this month. mostly quiet weather in store for the borderland over the next week as a ridge of high pressure aloft persists over the western u.s. temperatures today will remain on the cool side but then a warmup begins…with high temperatures back to normal thursday and then well above normal for the weekend. a pacific storm system moves into the area next tuesday with strong winds policy. those speed humps outside cathedral high school were also suggested by city rep. romero. gonzalez told the ethics commission — he was not directly involved in the process. but according to the el paso times… emails prove he was.. / ” “the answers that the ci manager provided in the investigation sort of wrapped up a lot of things we had been seeing which was an inability to take responsibilty” none of the council members approached by abc-7 wanted to talk about the article. ” “i want to get all t evidence” “i think we ne to give due process” “once m fisher releases that information we can make those type of comments” ” personally may go to legal action so im not sure what i can comment on” council members are expected to discuss the matter today — but mayor oscar leeser says there will probably be several meetings before they can take any action. also out of city hall— the use of electronic devices will no longer be allowed during council public meetings. the discussion led to some big accusations. / claudia ordaz: “that’s what i believe is the bigger issue here – is the fact that there’s a lot of communication not just happening in city council. it’s happening before and after these meetings and how to obtain that information is up to the city rep. i voluntarily gave all that because i believe in transparency.” michiel noe:sh actually did not turn over her text messages voluntarily. it wasn’t until the city attorney said ‘well you better find some because one of them is posted on a blog and everyone knows it’s out there. that’s when she turned them in.” city reps carl robinson, michiel noe and emma acosta proposed the ban of private devices during council meetings. but city rep claudia ordaz took it a step further and said the city reps should ban their city phones as well. in the end…. council unanimously decided to ban all private and city electronic devices during public meetings. city reps must now step off the dais if they need to take an emergency call. they’ll communicate with their staff through city email on the dais computers – which the public can check through an open records request. happening today in las cruces… mayor ken miyagishima will deliver his annual state of the city address today. this will be at 12:15 p.m. in the council chambers at city hall. the address will be televised live on clc-tv, comcast
