Journalism students from Texas Christian University explore local colonias
Graduating journalism students from Texas Christian University are in El Paso reporting on the lives of those living in colonias.
A colonia is an area along the Texas-Mexico border that may lack some of the most basic living necessities, such as potable water, sewer systems, electricity, paved roads and sanitary housing.
Students say this is a very “eye-opening” experience.
