5 more states taking their turn in 2016 White House race

Five states are taking their turns Saturday in the 2016 presidential race with caucuses and primaries largely overshadowed by Super Tuesday and potentially make-or-break contests soon to come.

In Wichita, Kansas, turnout’s been so heavy at the Republican caucuses that some voters waited in lines outside one event center for more than two hours before they got in.

About 100 protesters congregated outside an earlier rally for GOP front-runner Donald Trump before the caucuses opened, but their numbers had thinned out by late morning to about a dozen. They waved signs saying, “Trump Makes America Hate Again” and “A Bridge Not a Wall.”

Republicans are voting in Maine, Kansas, Kentucky and Louisiana, while Democrats are holding contests in Nebraska, Kansas and Louisiana.

In all, 155 GOP delegates are at stake in Saturday’s races.
