I-10 closure scheduled for Saturday instead of Sunday

The Texas Department of Transportation has directed a scheduling change for the second eastbound and westbound closure on I-10 and Paisano.

The closure will start a day earlier, Saturday, March 19, from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m., instead of Sunday, on I-10 between Sunland Park Drive and Executive Center Boulevard.

This change in scheduling comes from the request of the governor of New Mexico. TxDot believes that the original schedule will result in less overall disruption to travel. However they support the request of the governor.

TxDot says they will supplement law enforcement with its own personnel to support the project, since it may be difficult for law enforcement to obtain adequate personnel.

Closures include:

– Eastbound and westbound lanes I-10 from Sunland Park Drive and Executive Center Boulevard

– Paisano Drive at Executive Boulevard and Sunland Park Drive and Paisano Drive

– Crockett Street between Sunland Park Drive and Paisano Drive

Detour Information:

– Eastbound: All traffic must exit Sunland Park Drive; turn left onto Sunland Park; turn right onto Mesa. Commuters can take Mesa to Downtown or turn right on Executive to I-10 eastbound ramp

– Westbound: All traffic must exit Executive Center; right at Executive Center. Commuters can take Mesa to I-10 or turn left on Sunland Park to I-10 westbound ramp
