Arrieta-Candelaria appointed to UMC board
Carmen Arrieta-Candelaria will replace Monica Salaiz-Narvaez on the El Paso County Hospital District Board of Managers, according to County Commissioner David Stout.
Salaiz-Narvaez decided not to seek re-appointment to the board.
Stout touted Arrieta-Candelaria’s wealth of knowledge and experience. “Ms. Arrieta-Candelaria has a strong and proven record of public service to this community and her previous and current volunteer service to other public institutions speaks volumes to her commitment towards making this community a better place for its residents,” Commissioner Stout said.
Arrieta-Candelaria is currently the Chief Operating and Financial Officer of Integrity Asset Management, an El Paso property management firm. She previously served as the City of El Paso’s Chief Financial Officer for more than a decade and has more than 25 years of cumulative professional experience serving various governmental and public entities, including El Paso ISD, Gadsden ISD, and New Mexico State University.
Arrieta-Candelaria, a Certified Public Accountant in Texas since 1993, was also appointed to the Texas Lottery Commission by Governor Greg Abbott in August 2015.
Texas Education Agency Commissioner Michael Williams also appointed Arrieta-Candelaria to serve on the appointed El Paso ISD Board of Managers from May 2013 through May 2015.
Arrieta-Candelaria holds a Masters degree in business administration and a Bachelor of Accounting degree, both from New Mexico State University.
Stout said Arrieta-Candelaria’s background in finance and public administration will be a great addition to the Hospital District during a time of transition. It sets policy for the University Medical Center of El Paso and its outpatient facilities.
