Las Cruces school buses operating Tuesday morning

School buses in the Las Cruces Public School (LCPS) District were picking up and taking students to school Tuesday morning.

A strike by the Las Cruces Transportation Federation (LCTF) is still possible.

The union is asking for more sick days and less crowded buses.

In a statement released early Tuesday morning, the spokesperson for LCPS, Jo Galvan, said that parents should continue to monitor the Las Cruces Public Schools’ website (www.lcps.k12.nm.us) for information on bus service.

The statement also said that LCPS would give an update as to whether students would be picked up from school this afternoon.
