Students prepare for life after high school

Graduation season is hitting the Borderland and soon hundreds of high school seniors will be entering the “real world.”

Socorro Independent School District tried easing the transition by hosting a college, career and job expo on Saturday.

Students between the ages of 16 to 21 were invited to Montwood High School to learn about their future possibilities.

Those in attendance had the opportunity to speak with college, technical school, military and business representatives.

Some students had the opportunity to interview with some employers for summer jobs and internships.
