GMEP: Scholarships for online high school diploma program
are getting a second chance. we first told you about the program earlier this year. it’s sponsored by the el paso public libraries and it’s now underway. good morning el paso’s denise olivas is live … the el paso public library reports 22 percent-perent of el pasoans over the age of 18 do not have a high school diploma. now– potential students can apply for a scholarship. the diplomas are acquired through career online high school–an accredited program. those interested must have internet access– or they can use the computers and any library branch. students must be 19 years of age or older, have an el paso public library card, and be able to devote at least 8 hours per week to course work. to get a scholarship– students need to complete an self- assessment, a 2-week pre-requisite course and an interview with library staff: “we’ve had 38 people pass the pre-requisite well pass the beginning and move on to the pre-requisite, we’ve had a lot of interest in just the first two weeks” if you’d like more information– i’ll be posting a link to the library’s website. the interim speaker of brazil’s lower house says he wants
