UPDATED: Victim identified in I-10 West at Mesa deadly crash

The El Paso Police Department has identified the man who was killed after a crash on I-10 West near the Mesa on-ramp Monday as 60 year-old Billy Arthur Henry of Cherry Valley, Arkansas.

According to police, Henry was going west on I-10 when the 2012 Freightliner tractor-trailer he was driving careened off the highway, causing him to overcorrect and crash into the center median. Henry died on the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the crash, and no one else was hurt. Special traffic investigators are still looking into the causes of the crash.

The El Paso Police Department was investigating a deadly crash on the West Side that lead to the closure of I-10 West at the Mesa on-ramp for hours Monday.

The crash was first reported at about 11:14 a.m. An officer with the West Side Regional Command Center told ABC-7 the victim was a 50-year-old man.

All westbound lanes were closed at I-10 and Mesa until shortly before 6 p.m.
