Albuquerque police make arrest linked to violent Trump riot

A New Mexico man has been charged in connection with the violent protest last week outside an Albuquerque Donald Trump rally.

Albuquerque police say Julian Heckman of Rio Rancho, New Mexico, was arrested Tuesday and charged with seven counts of “propulsion of missiles” and other misdemeanor charges after officers watched television images of him tossing rocks at police.

A criminal complaint says Heckman was arrested following an anonymous tip. The complaint doesn’t say if Heckman hit any officers with rocks.

It was not known if Heckman had an attorney.

Albuquerque police spokeswoman Celina Espinoza says authorities were expected to make more arrests warrants Wednesday night in connection with the riots.

Albuquerque officials said Thursday around 30 people out of 1,000 protesters were responsible for the violence outside the rally for the GOP presidential hopeful.
