The $1.9 million project is part of a larger plan to improve the transportation system of the area. The project is expected to be completed in early 2017. It will allow bike, pedestrian and motor vehicle traffic to commute safely to the Northgate Transfer Center, which serves as the main feeder for the new Dyer BRIO system.

The Northgate Transfer Center is a $14.9 million project that will include services and amenities such as enclosed waiting areas with canopies at bus bays with electronic on-street message boards, ticketing and information offices. Construction is expected to begin in late 2016.

The new Dyer Brio system will connect northeast El Paso to central and downtown. Construction is expected to begin in early 2017.
