El Pasoans can volunteer to help clean Chamizal Garden Thursday

El Paso residents can volunteer to help clean up the Chamizal Garden on Thursday.

The Office of Resilience and Sustainability (ORS) is hosting the cleanup from 7:30 to 10 a.m. at the Chamizal Garden located at 3208 Findley.

The community garden was established just over a year ago but is in need of ongoing care. ORS aims to engage the entire community in helping to keep the garden thriving.

People interested in gardening can get a garden plot by signing a contract outlining rules, regulations, and responsibilities for each plot. ORS also offers one on one training on basic gardening and a free monthly Gardening 101 workshop.

For more information on the clean-up or on the gardening workshops, visit the Office of Resilience and Sustainability at www.elpasotexas.gov/gardenEP .
