El Paso GOP delegate at Republican National Convention
there was a lot of anticipation for republican national convention this week and tonight’s finale with with trump’s speech. and one texas delegate from el paso was there these last four days. mark dunham was elected as a texas delegate back in march and traveled to cleveland for his first r-n-c. abc-7’s jerry najera spoke with dunham this afternoon — he brings us the story. mark dunham tells me he was there for it all –the melania speech the ted cruz controversy but despite it all he says it was an amazing experience. “the convention itself has been a lot of fun. this has been the first national convention for myself and to say it was interesting would be putting it mildly” mark dunham is a retired army intelligence officer who serves as state republican committee executive. while at the convention despite talks of groups preparring to protest dunham said everything seemed very secure. “the city of cleveland has done an excellent job of getting everything ready as far as security and things of that nature” dunham tell me — one of the highlites of the convention for him was meeting eric trump. “they are as down to earth as you can imagine when you sit there and talk to him one on one it’s surprising” dunham says hearing tiffany trump’s speech about her father on the first day shined a new light on the presidential candidate. “he youngest daughter i thought gave a very good inside to the man as a person and i think that has been a very strong reflection of him as an individual” dunham wa also with the texas delegation the following day when cruz made some remarks that ruffled some feathers within the republican party. “if somebody was comin after my wife or my family or something of that nature i would understand i’d probably be very defensive myself but that’s sort of mano a mano you need to have that conversation between the two of you not be airing your dirty laundry in front of the nation” dunha says perhaps one of the more memorable moments of the convention was when donald trump junior touted his father’s ability to lead the nation. “i mean he blew it out of the water i was extraordinarily impressed as was the delegation he did extraordinarily well.” next week it will be the democrats’
