El Paso Police: Suspect in failed Chase Bank robbery from Pflugerville, Texas

Police identified the alleged bank robbery involved in Friday’s failed bank robbery Downtown as 33-year-old George Tilmon of Pflugerville, Texas.

Tilmon, charged with robbery, was booked in the county jail on a $10,000 bond.

EPPD assisted the FBI in its investigation of the bank robbery at 201 E. Main, the Chase Building in Downtown El Paso.

The robbery was reported at 2:19 p.m. Police officers who patrol Downtown in bicycles arrived at the building shortly after the robbery was reported. As they walked up the stairs into the second floor, the officers saw a man who matched the description of the suspected bank robber with a bank teller.

The officers approached the man, identified him as the suspect, and took him into custody, police said.

According to police, an unarmed Tilmon “demanded money from a bank employee, telling the employee he was being robbed.”
