Nobody hurt in underground electrical fire

Officials say nobody has been hurt in an underground electrical fire in downtown El Paso that led to some evacuations.

The El Paso Fire Department says the blaze was under control by about 3 p.m. MDT Wednesday. A couple of blocks were evacuated for several hours amid the fire that sent flames and black smoke pouring through a manhole.

Authorities say the fire was reported before dawn Wednesday.

Investigators are working with El Paso Electric officials to try to determine what sparked the blaze.
