Alamogordo police release details on slain officer’s funeral procession

A funeral procession for slain Alamogordo Police Officer Clint Corvinus will be held Saturday September 10, 2016.

Corvinus was shot and killed while pursuing suspect Joseph Moreno Friday, September 2. Moreno also died as a result of wounds sustained during a shootout.

The procession for Officer Corvinus will begin at the Hamilton O’Dell Funeral Home then proceed along the following route:

It will proceed southbound on Scenic Avenue to First Street
Turn westbound onto First Street and continue to the intersection of First Street and Virginia Avenue Proceed northbound on Virginia Avenue and stop briefly in front of the Alamogordo Police Department Continue on Virginia and turn eastbound onto Tenth Street to Scenic Avenue Turn northbound onto Scenic Avenue and proceed to the Tays Special Events Center.

If you are unable to attend, and would still like to pay your respects, you are welcome to watch the procession anywhere along the route.

There will be limited parking available at the Tays Special Events Center and overflow parking can be used at the NMSUA campus across from the special events center, police said.
