Police identify man shot and killed inside Northeast El Paso apartment

Police are are investigating a deadly shooting Wednesday morning in Northeast El Paso.

Officers responded just before 2 a.m. to some apartments on the 4000 block of Lawrence Avenue. Police said Frank Christopher Hernandez, 30, was found lifeless inside one of the apartment units.

The shooting occurred near the site of what was once Dr. Lorenzo G. Lafarelle Middle School.

El Paso Independent School District officials officials confirmed the school is no longer in use and no students are being affected by the investigation. Employees in the building will be able to gain access since it is not a part of the investigation.

Police told ABC-7 there was no potential threat in the neighborhood near the investigation.

The El Paso Police Department’s Crimes Against Persons unit is asking anybody with information to call the El Paso Police Department at (915) 832-4400.
