‘Ongoing investigation’: Crime-scene units gather in Northeast desert
Several law enforcement agencies are conducting an investigation in the desert off of Railroad Drive in Northeast El Paso.
Crime-scene investigators, as well as Border Patrol agents, gathered near the railroad tracks parallel to the 11700 block of Railroad Drive.
An ABC-7 crew was near the scene for about an hour and a half before an agent appeared about half a mile from into desert. Border Patrol agents in ATVs picked up the agent up and headed back out into the desert.
A Border Patrol spokesman said agents are often asked to assist in police investigations, buy he didn’t know any details on Wednesday’s investigation.
ABC-7 also reached out to El Paso police and asked if investigators were possibly looking for the body of murder victim Anthony Trejo, 33, whose remains are still missing. A spokesman said it’s an ongoing investigation and, “When or if anything results we will let you all know.”
