Coliseum offers free Slipknot tickets to fans who missed Snoop Dogg
Two-hundred fans of rapper Snoop Dogg will get a chance to see metalheads Slipknot for free tonight.
Snoop Dogg was scheduled to perform Friday during the Texas Showdown Festival, but he canceled at the last minute.
Officials with the El Paso County Coliseum, which only rented the space for the event, said the promoter of the Texas Showdown will not be offering refunds.
However, in an effort to show their appreciation for patrons who support events at the El Paso County Coliseum, 200 people who bought tickets to see Snoop Dogg can trade them in for two free tickets to see Slipknot at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Coliseum.
“We were just as disappointed to not see Snoop Dogg at the event at the El Paso County Coliseum on Friday, but once we heard from the promoter late Friday, we immediately reached out to patrons on our
own social media, as well as through the media,” Brian Kennedy, president and CEO of the El Paso Sports Commission, which oversees the El Paso County Coliseum, said in a news release.
Fans with a pink entry wristband from Sept. 23, the night of the Snoop Dogg concert, as well as a green three-day event wristband, can trade them in for a pair of Slipknot tickets from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. tonight, Sept. 28, at the El Paso County Coliseum Box Office, 4100 E. Paisano
