UPDATE: Wyler Aerial Tramway closed this weekend after mechanical errors
The Wyler Aerial Tramway remains closed today after a group of visitors became stranded atop the mountain yesterday afternoon.
About 40 people, most of them middle school students from Socorro–had to be rescued. Everyone made it down safely after five hours.
Officials with the Wyler Aerial Tramway tell Abc-7 the tramway is closed Saturday and Sunday, but they hope to reopen next weekend. Officials tell Abc-7 they’re working on the tramway and it should be up and running after some standard, preventive maintenance.
