LC Man accused of shooting at ex-wife after argument

Doña Ana County sheriff’s deputies arrested a man after he allegedly fired two rounds at his former wife during a reported argument.

Gregory Kight, 58, was detained and arrested just after 6 p.m. Monday in the 7000 block of Arco Iris.

Deputies said an investigation revealed Kight and his ex-wife got into an argument at a home in the 4000 block of Northgate. The victim allegedly told Kight she “didn’t want to be with him anymore.”

The victim told deputies Kight was drunk and shot at her twice with a revolver. She was able to leave the scene to safety, where she called 911.

Kight went back to his residence on Arco Iris, where deputies located and detained him without incident.

He was then transported to the Doña Ana County Detention Center where he is being held without bond on charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
