Early voting numbers in El Paso now more than past two elections combined

Early voter turnout is the highest El Paso County has ever seen and there are still two days left to cast an early ballot.

ABC-7 confirmed with the County Election Department Wednesday more than 110,000 voters in El Paso went to the polls and already voted in the 2016 election in person.

Another 7,239 El Paso voters mailed in an early ballot. The combined total for early voting in 2008 and 2012 was 114,000.

Voting is up across the entire country with elections departments coast to coast reporting more than 28 million votes have already been counted.
