Fall color is just a two hour drive from El Paso

ABC-7’s Stephen Decatur went to McKittrick Canyon located within Guadalupe Mountains National Park to do a little hiking on Friday and took this beautiful shot.

Guadalupe Mountains National Park is just a two hour drive out HWY 180 from El Paso.

McKittrick Canyon is well know throughout the state as one of the best spots for fall color in Texas.

You can view the fall foliage by hiking down McKittrick Canyon trail. The trail is about 7 miles round trip, and is well maintained with little elevation change.

Temperatures are expected to say in the 50’s for post of the day Saturday with rain showers and fog present much of the day. Sunday looks nicer with a high around 70, partly cloudy skies, and only a slight chance of rain.
