Fire displaces family in lower valley Thursday morning
The El Paso Fire Department says one man was taken to the hospital after a house fire in the Lower Valley.
The fire broke out just before 1:30 a.m. Thursday morning on the 300 block of Link Drive.
The fire department tells our ‘Round the Clock crew there were seven people in the home. Two were children.
The person who was taken to the hospital was only identified as a 52-year-old man. His injuries were not serious.
The fire department says that when they arrived, the house was fully engulfed in flames, but the residents had already evacuated.
Firefighters say they had the majority of the fire out just before 2 in the morning, and they had it under control by 3 am. A total of 12 units and 30 firefighters responded.
The fire department says the home did have working fire alarms. The cause is still under investigation.
The estimated amount of damage is $153,000.
