Suspect in Central EP shooting arrested in North Carolina

U.S. Marshals in North Carolina arrested a man wanted in connection with a shooting in El Paso.

25-year-old Lynnard Deshawn Bethea is awaiting extradition to Texas. He will be charged with Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon.

Police said Bethea is suspected in a shooting that happened Saturday, November 19, 2016 in the 3500 block of Pershing.

Police officers responding to the shooting found a 32-year-old man with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground.

An investigation revealed the victim’s car was being pelted by objects thrown from a window by neighbors arguing upstairs, police said.

The victim confronted Bethea in the parking lot and was allegedly shot by Bethea several times, police added.

The victim rushed to UMC in critical condition. Police did not provide an update on his condition.

Bethea was arrested Wednesday, November 30, 2016 and is being held in the Wake County Detention Center in Raleigh.
