“Lights on the Lake” returns to Ascarate Park this weekend

“Lights on the Lake” returns to Ascarate Park this weekend.

Hosted by the El Paso County Parks & Special Events, “Lights on the Lake” will be held Saturday, December 10th.

The one-night event will include a lighting ceremony, music, food trucks and the “Jingle Bell Jog.”

The fun begins at 6:00 P.M. with performances by the El Paso Youth Symphony, Electric Rock Orchestra and LAT Studios. County officials will welcome the public and switch the lights throughout the park.

Families are asked to bring blankets and chairs for a free lakeside showing of “Elf.” A trackless train will also give complimentary rides throughout the night. Santa Claus is expected to make a special appearance and will be available for photos.

The event is free and park entry fees will be waived for the evening.

The lights will be lit nightly in the park through early January. Winter park hours are 6:00 am to 8:00 pm, with a $2 park entry fee on Saturday and Sunday.
