Abandoned Fabens house catches fire twice in 3 days

An abandoned house in Fabens is a complete loss after it caught fire for the second time Friday evening around 7, said officials with the Horizon Fire Department.

Fire officials said the call came down around 6:51 p.m. for a fire near Eubanks and 2nd Street.

It took 22 units about an hour-and-a-half to put out the condition three fire.

Fire crews from Fabens, Clint, San Elizario, Socorro, and Horizon all responded.

There were no injuries to either fire crews or civilians.

The home had caught fire three days prior, and is now considered a total loss. Fire officials said a car, a shed, and a tree were also damaged in the fire.

The surrounding properties were not affected.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
