Foster children enjoy holiday cheer

Foster children and their families enjoyed a little holiday cheer Saturday.

The Department of Family and Protective Services hosted a holiday party for children under the care of Child Protective Services. The party was held at the Fountains at Farah and children enjoyed photos with Santa, ice-skating and food.

“Our kids go through unfortunately abuse and neglect and it’s a day for them to be kids. A day for them to celebrate Christmas, a day for them to enjoy time together and hopefully to have fun,” Diana Lopez, permanency Director for CPS said.

There are 111 children waiting to be adopted and 218 in foster care in El Paso. For more information, visit www.adoptchildren.org.
