Robbery spree ends with chase and crash

El Paso Police say a robbery spree that began on Christmas night ended with a chase and a crash early Monday morning.

The crash happened in Central El Paso by the intersection of Gateway South and La Luz just after 12:30 am. Police tell ABC-7 that 4 men were taken into custody. At this point it’s unknown what charges each of them will face.

Police tell ABC-7 the robbery spree started just after 10:30 Sunday night with a car-jacking, and involved 8 convenience stores in various parts of town.

Through radio-traffic and TexDOT traffic cameras, ABC-7’s Round the Clock crew noticed that police made a breakthrough when the car was spotted in West El Paso. A chase on I-10 ensued, eventually ending in Central El Paso.

Police tell ABC-7 that the investigation is still ongoing.
