Student suffers brain injury after car surfing

A Clovis High School student is recovering in a Lubbock, Texas hospital after a severe head injury after car surfing.

Veronica Revell says her 14-year-old daughter Dakota is unconscious and in intensive care.

The incident happened Dec. 21, the last day before Christmas break.

Dakota’s mom wants to warn students in Clovis and elsewhere to stop car surfing.

Revell says doctors have told her to expect months or even a year of rehabilitation depending on her daughter’s condition when she wakes up.

A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family with medical expenses. Click here to help.
