Coyotes hopeful to turn season around with new head coach
The El Paso Coyote’s first 9 games of the season have been anything but perfect as they sit winless at 0-9. But the organization is hopeful to get in the winning column with the hiring of new head coach Jose Luis Trevino.
The Coyotes released former head coach Hector Eugui and decided to work with Trevino, who enters the role with 8 previous years of experience in the MASL. Not to mention, Trevino was the sports director and assistant coach for the Soles de Sonora.
Gil Cantu, the president of the Coyotes, said he is excited about the plethora of experience Trevino brings to the club.
“He knows the league, he knows what he’s talking about,” Canu said. He knows the opponents and he knows how everyone plays.”
While Trevino himself, said he sees potential with the squad and thinks wins are in the near future.
“There have only been 2 practices, but with those 2, I have already seen very good opportunities,” Trevino said. “I am very confident in the next game or the next few games there will be opportunities for wins.”
Ironically enough, the Coyotes will play the Soles, who have the best record in the league at 7-1, Friday night at 7:30 p.m. in the El Paso County Coliseum.
