Strong winds sweep through Borderland

Fire crews arrived at a home after a massive tree toppled over.
Homeowner Marry Beard says she heard a loud pop.
“We thought it was just the electricity but then a man came and rang our doorbell and we knew something was wrong,” Beard said.
Beard and nearby residents didn’t only have falling trees to worry about.
Down the street a power line was teetering in the wind. It caused power outage leaving a little more than 500 people without power.
City officials told Beard they will begin cleaning up her uprooted tree beginning Sunday morning.
The El Paso Electric website showed there were more than 500 customers without power.
