Two men stabbed at Popo’s bar, police say
One of two men stabbed at a downtown bar is in critical condition, police said.
Officers responded to the stabbing call at Popo’s Bar shortly after 9 pm Tuesday, January 31, 2017.
The bar is in Downtown El Paso on the 400 block of South Mesa.
An investigation revealed two groups of men got into a verbal argument before the alleged stabbing.
Police said 46-year-old Roberto De Avila was transported to an area hospital with serious stab injuries.
Police said 32-year-old Luis De Avila was also stabbed.
The alleged attackers left the bar before police arrived, officials said.
