Police release mug shot of man accused in deadly Barfly shooting
The Crimes Against Persons unit has released the mug shot of the 19-year-old man who allegedly shot and killed a former Montwood High football player outside an East El Paso bar.
Moises Galvan is charged with the murder of Rogelio Franco on January 29, 2017.
The second victim, shot in the chest, was 22-year-old David Ortega. Police said Ortega was taken to the hospital and his current condition is unknown.
Franco and Galvan knew each other from high school, a complaint affidavit obtained by ABC-7 states.
Both allegedly got into an argument near the patio area of Barfly, a bar located at 11335 Montwood in East El Paso.
The court document states Franco walked out out into the parking lot. Galvan then allegedly pulled out a small handgun and shot the men several times before running away.
An off duty sheriff’s deputy working as a security guard chased Galvan and arrested him. Franco was pronounced dead at the crime scene.
Once at police headquarters, Galvan allegedly admitted to detectives he shot and killed Franco.
