El Paso athletes put on clinic at state wrestling meets

El Paso made it’s name known at the Texas State Championship Wrestling meets over the weekend as several athletes either took gold or placed in the top 3. Below is a full list.

HANKS GIRLS:

4-peat champions, along with Gianna Morales who took first place and is now a 2-time state champion. Shania Villalba and Adrienne Holguin both placed second.

BEL AIR:

Christian Hernandez now a Texas state champion in the 145 pound weight class.

FRANKLIN:

Sophomore James McClain also took home the gold medal and is now a state champion in the 120 pound weight class.

PARKLAND:

Tiffany Ganda placed second in the 95 pound weight class, along with Elvita Arevalo in 4th place at 215 pounds.

EASTWOOD:

The team overall finished in 3rd, while Noah Vasquez and Isaiah Delgado both took home the gold in the 182 and 106 pound weight class (respectively).

EASTLAKE:

Joshua Molinar took second place in the 195 weight class.
