Child hospitalized after being struck by SUV
Las Cruces Police say a young child was hit by a SUV Saturday night on the 700 block of Lees Drive.
Officials say the 5-year-old boy was riding a scooter in the street around 6:30 p.m.
The child was taken to a local hospital before being airlifted to University Medical Center in critical condition.
Police tell ABC-7 the boy is in stable condition, hours after the incident.
Officials say the driver stopped immediately after hitting the young boy and will most likely not face any charges.
