Like, Love & Share-A-Thon to raise funds for Rescue Mission
It’s something that the Rescue Mission of El Paso has never attempted before. A two hour telethon to be broadcasted live on their Facebook page.
The rescue mission will be holding that first ever telethon this Saturday, and it’s all for a great cause.
The goal is to reach $10,000 in donations to help fund the various programs that the rescue mission offers to over 190 residence daily.
One program that the mission is trying to raise money for is to open up a vocational rehabilitation program that serves BBQ. It would provide work experience, income and training to the residents.
The telethon will include a tour of the facility and testimony from a few of the residence who live there. The live telethon will also have a cook off featuring former Mayor John Cook.
The Like, Love & Share-A-Thon is also a way for the Rescue Mission of El Paso to spread the word of what they do in the El Paso community.
The Like, Love & Share-A-Thon will be this Saturday from 4 to 6 p.m. You can join the telethon live on Facebook to make your donations. All you have to do is like the KVIA ABC-7 Facebook page.
