Plaza Classic Film Festival announces first selections for 2017

The Plaza Classic Film Festival is rounding up the “usual suspects” for its 10th annual showcase this August. The festival boasts itself as the largest classic film festival in the world, and we now know 10 of the films that will be playing.

Among them will be Casablanca, the classic WWII era romance which was part of the original lineup when the movies first returned to the Plaza Theatre in 2008. The film will play again for “old times’ sake.”

The festival will also bring back a few other “greatest hits” which have shown over the years. Among them are Singin’ in the Rain, Citizen Kane, The Graduate, Jaws, Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory, and The Treasure of Sierra Madre.

A few other films will make their debut at the festival this year. They include Monty Python’s Life of Brian and Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery.

For documentary aficionados, The Atomic Cafe will also be playing at the festival.

The festival is expected to release the names of more titles over the coming months. The festival will last from August 3rd to August 13th this year. You can read more about the festival on the Plaza Classic website.
