Police arrest teen couple accused of breaking into several El Paso businesses
Police officers, with the help of a Department of Public Safety helicopter crew, arrested a teen couple who allegedly burglarized several businesses in El Paso.
19-year-old Robert Marquez and 18-year-old Shalene Robinette are both charged with Burglary of a Business.
Officials said police officers and the DPS crew were keeping an eye on the couple, suspected of burglarizing businesses in the Northeast and in the Pebble Hills areas.
Shortly after midnight May 3, 2017, the teen couple left their hotel in the Northeast and drove to the Pebble Hills area, police said
At about 1:30 am, the couple drove to Fun Cuts, which police say is located at 1460 George Dieter, where Marquez allegedly pried the front door and entered the business. Robinette remained outside in the driver’s seat of a parked vehicle.
Police conducting surveillance “converged on the scene and arrested the pair without incident,” officials said.
Robinette was jailed on a $20,000 bond. She is accused of burglarizing Creative Hair Salon at 9201 Dyer.
