I-10 to be closed on the west side Sunday night

“It’s horrible!”

That’s how just some drivers felt of the latest Go-10 closures, even it it’s just for one night, from 9 pm Sunday to 6 am Monday

It’s starting at the I-10 and Mesa intersection. The highway and its ramps will be closed eastbound all the way down to SUnland park, including the Resler flyover Ramp

On the Westbound lanes the closure is shorter, just from resler up to Mesa, but the Sunland Park onramp before the closures will also be shutdown.

Drivers we spoke to were already planning out their different routes to travel.

“We’re going to the other side of town, so it’s gonna take at least…we’re gonna have to go down Mesa to Montana, probably, and then take Paisano down that way…And take the freeway from there,” said one couple who were planning to go out Sunday night.

Alternate routes people are going to have to take are Doniphan down from mesa to Sunland Park if they were hoping to use I-10 East, and for those westbound there won’t be much choice but to take Mesa all the way from Sunland Park to I-10.

The closures are expected to end around 6 a.m. Monday.
