Police: suspect robs store, assaults clerk

Police need your help finding the suspect who allegedly robbed a convenience store and assaulted the clerk the morning of May 19, 2017.

The suspect, caught on surveillance camera, is described as an Hispanic man with thick hair, a mustache and a goatee. Police say he is approximately 5’5″ tall, with a medium build, weighing in between 140-150 pounds.

He walked into the 7-11 located at 3525 N. Yarbrough around 3 a.m. and made few purchases.

The suspect returned to the store about a half an hour later and forcefully grabbed the employee, demanding she open the cash register, police said.

The man then “assaulted the employee in an obscene manner” and fled the scene after a customer walked into the store.

He was last seen running southbound on Yarbrough towards Shannon. The employee was not seriously injured, however the suspect has yet to be found.

Anyone with any information on whereabouts of the alleged robber is urged to call police at 832-4400.
