Jefferson/Silva needs a name for its new stadium

Jefferson / Silva High School is set to open its new stadium for the 2017-2018 school year. But before the Silver Foxes can take the field, the stadium needs a name.

Name suggestions will be presented to the Board of Trustees. To submit a name, you will need to fill out the nomination form and submit it to Jefferson / Silva Student Activities Manager Angelica Lechuga at alechuga@episd.org.

The deadline to submit a name is 5 p.m. on Friday, May 26th.

ABC-7 has reported in the past the stadium will feature a 6,000-person grandstand with a press box, public address system, concession stand restrooms and ticket booths. This will be the first stadium for Jefferson, which has played its home football games at Bowie High School for decades.

Funding for the project comes from the bond election voters in EPISD approved in 2007.
