Police identify woman struck and killed by train

El Paso Police say Diana Reyes, 60, is the woman struck and killed by a train in the Lower Valley.

Police were called to the 9400 block of Roseway shortly before 2 am Friday.

An investigation revealed the train, operated by engineer Hector Herrera and conductor Luis Pena, spotted Reyes on the train tracks.

Herrera sounded the horn, but Reyes did not move out of the train’s path.

“The train was unable to stop and struck Reyes, knocking her off of the tracks,” police said in a news release.

Reyes, who police say was criminally trespassing, died at the scene, police said.
